Call for Abstracts from Physicians in Training at APPNA Summer meeting Aug 15, 2015 (Deadline July 7, 2015)
The Committee for Young physicians of APPNA calls for Abstracts from Physicians in training of Pakistani-Descent (medical students/residents/fellows/research associates) for the APPNA CME sessions on Saturday, August 15, 2015 during the APPNA Summer Convention in Orlando, Florida. Physicians in training are encouraged to attend the entire CME sessions (details on APPNA.org). Registration fees would be waived (with free APPNA membership). Distinguished scholars and scientists would be among the panel of speakers. All submitting authors are encouraged to become members of APPNA. The membership fee is waived for in-training physicians (The procedure to become a member is simple-please email me for details).
Each physician can submit only one abstract. Four abstracts would be selected for oral presentation. Ten abstracts would also be selected for poster presentation. An honorarium of $200 would be provided to the selected oral abstracts and $100 for poster presentations. There would be cash awards for best three Oral Presentations (total $600) and best three Poster Presentations (Total $600). Presenters would be subsidized fifty percent (maximum $50/night) for two nights stay in Orlando. We are trying to accommodate four highest scoring abstracts in complimentary shared accommodation.
The Deadline for abstracts is 12 midnight EST, July 7, 2015. All submissions would be reviewed by a committee and the authors of the selected abstracts be informed by July 10, 2015. All decisions of the committee would be final.
Submitted Abstracts should be composed of the following (Microsoft word format): Abstract Title, Main topic, Authors (Underline the presenting author), University/Hospital, Introduction/Background, Methods, Results and Conclusions (a sample abstract is attached)
Introduction/Background, Methods, Results and Conclusions to be of 2000 characters without spaces (Table constitutes 300 Characters). Please include the contact info of the presenting author, including title (student/resident/fellow), Current program name, Medical college name, Email, Home and Cell phone/Beeper numbers.
Please indicate whether you want the abstract to be considered for oral, poster or either presentation.
